Letterpress Printing on the Vandercook Press
with Daniel Morris

In this class conducted in the Cooper Union letterpress studio, students will be introduced to the craft of letterpress printing. You will print your work on the studio’s five Vandercook presses using wood and metal typefaces as well as plates from digital files. This will be a hands-on class appropriate for beginners that will suit those who love design, typography and print. We will work from metal and wood type fonts, print from relief plates made from digital files, and even do a bit of hot foil stamping. Following each evening's lesson, students will have class time to work on projects of their own using the studio facilities with the assistance of the instructor. There is no pre-requisite for this course.
